April 1, 2002"World Environment Photo Exhibition Executive Committee" was established to hold Exhibitions of the UNEP "Focus on Your World" International Photographic Competition on the Environment in Asian countries.
November 25, 2002Contract was made for holding the Exhibition in China with the Center for Environmental Education & Communications of State Environmental Protection Administration of China.
April 15-21, 2003The Exhibition was held at Beijng Shi Ji Tan Exhibition Hall.
September, 2003In cooperation with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Junior Chamber, the Exhibtion was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office, as the first step of holding a series of Exhibitions in Japan.
January 5-11, 2004In cooperation with NPO Laboratory of Image Culture Okinawa, the Exhibition was held at Kumoji Public Hall, Naha, Okinawa.
January 9-25, 2004In cooperation with the Omori Corporate Taxpayer's Associations, which has 1.32 million corporate members nationwide, the Exhibition was held at Ota Forest of Culture Hall, Tokyo. This led the potential of holding the photo exhibitions across the country thereafter.
February 24, 2004World Environment Photo Exhibition Executive Committee was registered by the Tokyo Metroportan Government as "NPO World Environment Photo Exhibition."
July 3-11, 2004NPO World Environment Photo Exhibition, by itself for the first time, held an Exhibition at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation.
July 9-16, 2004In cooperation with the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion of Thai Government, the Exhibition was held at the buiding of the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion in Bangkok. This led to succeeding exhibitions in Thailand.
December 5-9, 2004In cooperation with District 3750 Rotary International, the first Exhibition in South Korea was held at Ansan Culture and Arts Center at Ansan City.
June, 2005Under a formal authorization by UNEP, the first volumes of the Japanese versions of UNEP's official magazines, Our Planet and TUNZA, were published. The two magazines are to be published quarterly, which amount to a total of eight issues per year.
29 July, 2005NPO World Environment Photo Exhibition changed its organization name to NPO Associates of the Earth. This change was certified by Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
February, 2006UNEP publication Japanese version site was launched under www.ourplanet.jp.
May 17-June 5, 2007Environmental Photo Exhibitions at 7 International Airports were successfully held under the title as "Exhibitions of the UNEP 'Focus on Your World' International Photographic Competition on the Environment at International Airports" which draws media's attention internationally.
November 2007The first "Window on UNEP Information and Events" was opened at Tokyo Big Sight. It displays pictures and videos on the environment owned by UNEP.
May 22-June 29, 2008Environmental Photo Exhibitions at 7 International Airports were successfully held under the title as "Exhibitions of the UNEP 'Focus on Your World' International Photographic Competition on the Environment at International Airports" which draws media's attention internationally.
September, 20082nd permanent "Window on UNEP Information and Events" was opened at Makuhari Messe (Chiba).
October, 20083rd permanent "Window on UNEP Information and Events" was opened at Center for Environmental Science in Saitama.
March, 20094th permanent "Window on UNEP Information and Events" was opened at Hyogo Hands-on Ecology Center in Hyogo, and 5th permanent "Window on UNEP Information and Events" was opened at Naha Airport in Okinawa.
May, 20096th permanent "Window on UNEP Information and Events" was opened at Environment Learning Center in Nagoya City (ECOPAL Nagoya, Aichi).
May 22-August 10, 2009UNEP Global Environment Information display in airport 2009 was held at 8 airports including three airports for the first time in Philippines. (Japan: Narita Int'l Airport, Haneda Airport, Chubu Int'l Airport, New Chitose Airport, Naha Airport/Philippines: Manila Int'l Airport, Davao Int'l Airport, Mactan Cebu Int'l Airport)
February 10, 2010AOE was moved and succeeded to a General Incorporated Foundation.
June, 20107th permanent "Window on UNEP Information and Events" was opened at Eco House 138 in Ichinomiya city, Aichi.
October, 20108th permanent "Window on UNEP Information and Events" was opened at Ginza TS Building, Chuo-ku, Tokyo (Now-closed).
February 1, 2011AOE was certified by Cabinet Office as a Public Interest Incorporated Foundation.
March 12, 2012AOE attended the 2nd Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Forum in Bangkok for the first time.
March 23, 2013First UNEP Global Environment Information Display in Micronesia was held.
May, 2015 Human Education Project newly started.
July, 2017 Apply for registration to the Japan Anniversary Association on October 1st every year as "WA-NO-HI", and receive formal registration from the association.
